We have got some great homeschool tools and resources through our new school. Things like paper and pencils we get to keep, other things like books, games and tools we are borrowing on long term loan. One of those things is our first cooperative board game, Ogres and Elves. The instructions for the game are waaaaaay too long and complicated, but once we muddled through it, the game itself is simple enough and we have had fun playing it. I like the idea of cooperative games, it teaches a great lesson. We have another one called Birds of Summer that we haven’t tried out yet.
We also are borrowing a full set of unifix cubes. These babies are fantastic! They really help with showing addition, subtraction, multiplication and division in tangible, hands-on ways. There are other fun things you can do with them too:
